North was too smart to start the bidding with a preempt. Slavenburg expected east-west had a slam or manche in spades, so he psyched. North thought six spades had a fair chance. The seven diamond bid told north that Slavenburg had psyched, he could now only retreat to seven spades. West expected a large number of tricks and doubled. After that he thought the club ace was the safest lead, actually he picked the only card which gave seven spades a chance. Slavenburg ruffed in the hand and lead the nine of diamonds ducked by west heart discard in dummy. A heart was ruffed in dummy back to the hand with a club ruf. A heart ruf followed by the ace of spades. Making seven spades doubled wow!!!
